- Joint meeting of the AFCO and INTA Commission Working Groups on the Irish Protocol
Due to the tense situation related to the implementation of the Irish Protocol, the Chairman of the AFCO Working Group on the Implementation of Withdrawal Agreement, together with the Chairman of the INTA Working Group on Great Britain, organize a meeting with experts and representatives of civil society. The aim of the meeting is to identify the most important issues related to the application of the so-called Irish Protocol and to come up with possible solutions. This Protocol forms part of the Withdrawal Agreement between EU and UK and regulates relations on the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The meeting will be co-chaired by Prof. Huebner, Chairman of the aforementioned Working Group of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs.

- Meeting of the European Parliament delegation to the plenary session of the Conference on the Future of Europe
This Wednesday, a group of 108 MEPs delegated to take part in the Conference on the Future of Europe, will meet to sum up the progress of the work done so far. It will also be an opportunity to reflect on the conclusions of citizens’ ideas reported through a multilingual digital platform. Next to MEPs, representatives of civil society will also attend the meeting and share their expectations regarding the impact of the Conference on the shape of future changes in the EU. Prof. Danuta Huebner will present her recommendations as to the greater involvement of citizens in the work of the Conference and summarize the course of discussions within the “EU in the world” Working Group.

- AFCO Committee meeting
During the next meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs the report of Prof. Huebner, which is an assessment of the first implementation of Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union in the history of the EU enabling the exit of a Member State from the EU, will be subject to the vote. Another important item on Thursday’s session will be the vote on amendments to the report on the electoral reform in the European Parliament, which provides for the creation of a transnational list of candidates, in addition to the existing international list.

- Presentation by the Commission of their first annual report on the screening of foreign direct investment in the Union
The Committee on International Trade will have an exchange of views with the Commission on the first year implementing the FDI Screening Regulation and scrutinize the cooperation between Member States and the Commission. Prof. Danuta Huebner will share her views on the implementation of the regulation thus far.
