INTA Hearing on trade-related aspects of the Northern Ireland Protocol

The Committee on International Trade will host a public hearing to debate trade-related aspects of the Northern Ireland Protocol. Prof. Danuta Huebner, as Chair of the AFCO Monitoring Group on relations with the UK, will reflect on the impact of tensions in the implementation of the Protocol on the overall trade and economic relationship between the EU and the UK.

Exchange of views with EVPs Vestager and Dombrovskis on the EU-US Trade and Technology Council

The Committee on International Trade will host an exchange of views with EVPs Vestager and Dombrovskis on the EU-US Trade and Technology Council. Prof Danuta Huebner, as EPP INTA Shadow on relations with the US, will share her views on the necessity for a closer transatlantic cooperation for resilient supply chains.

Keynote Speech at 2022 FIX’s EMEA Trading Conference

Prof. Danuta Huebner will participate to the 2022 FIX’s EMEA Trading Conference, as the European keynote speaker and panellist. In her remarks, she will focus on the use of financial markets in international diplomacy, particularly in relation to the current geopolitical scenario. She will also outline her vision for financial policy changes in the EU. The EMEA Trading Conference is Europe’s largest one-day electronic trading conference, bringing together the global trading community to discuss the most pressing financial issues and providing a neutral platform for buy-side, sell-side, exchanges, vendors and regulators to share their ideas on how to collaborate.

Oral Question to the Commission on the Energy Charter Treaty modernization

The Committee on International Trade will ask an oral question to Commission representatives during the plenary session on the state of play of the modernization of the Energy Charter Treaty. Prof Danuta Huebner, as EPP INTA Shadow on investment policy, will question the Commission on how the current energy crisis is affecting the negotiations.

Plenary session on the Conference on the Future of Europe

At its next meeting on 25 – 26 March, the Plenary will start preparing its proposals, which will be based on recommendations from both national and European Citizens’ Panels, input gathered from the Multilingual Digital Platform, and debates in the Conference Plenary and its working groups. The exchanges and proposals will be grouped thematically. Professor Danuta Huebner, as a member of the Working Group “EU in the world”, take part in preparing the proposals in this group.
