Awaiting new Commission’s legislative package on migration.

The challenge is not only about putting in place a new legal framework for migrants’ distribution. We must think long term and start investing in ensuring proper living conditions for those who would be coming in the nearest future, in their economic and social integration as well as in preparing our societies to live in an ever growing diversity.

Such a longer  term perspective can contribute to reducing the risk of a new wave of political radicalization.

The migration crisis demonstrates that peace in Europe increasingly depends on the situation in the world around us. New legitimation of Europe can, therefore, come from the foreign policy.
