For the second time Professor Danuta Hübner took part in a public money-collection organized by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation. On Sunday, January 8 at Saint Gilles, Marie Janson's Square there was a concert and a special auction. The subject matter of the auction were: dinner with the Professor Hübner, parliamentary calendar for 2012. In Antwerp, where the Orchestra also appeared, personal Mrs. Professor Hübner’s pen was also auctioned. The winner of the auction was Mr. Mariusz Sirko, a Pole working in Belgium, who bid 170 euros. Moreover, on Allegro website you can find the European Union’s flag, with Polish MEPs signatures gathered by Professor Hübner.
Money collected by the orchestra, which this year will play for the twentieth time, will be used to purchase life-saving devices and insulin pumps for pregnant diabetes women.
In Brussels, the first chords of the orchestra resounded at 13.00 and from 20.00 began the so-called ‘Light To Heaven’ action.
In 2011 the Belgian collection resulted with the amount of 43,000 for the purchase of equipment for children with urological and kidneys diseases. Mrs. Professor’s pen was sold for an amount of 800 euros.
